Cities are exciting places, full of things to do and see. But one of the things that people often see a lot more of than they want to when city travelling, is busy roads and traffic jams. Learning how to get around these problems and make the best of the situation where they are unavoidable can increase your enjoyment tremendously. So many of us enjoy taking a mini trip with our families, friends or partners, but how on earth do you decide where to go when the choices are so overwhelming? Lack of time and funds mean we’ll never get to go everywhere that we want to go, so we have to prioritize. On some of my many trips I have taken in some fantastic cities and here are just some of my recommendations for places to take a great mini trip. Let’s start off in Nashville. As I’m lucky enough to have a good friend who lives there, I’ve taken quite a few trips there and always have a fantastic time.
The Nashville culture is fascinating, with the Grand Ole Opry being a major attraction, where you can enjoy the best of Country Music. If you are food lover, you are literally spoiled for choice in Nashville, there are numerous restaurants serving just about every kind of food there is. If you are looking to take a short trip to a city in the North East, why not try Newport or Providence in Rhode Island. Although the smallest of all our states, there is much to offer the visitor and a trip is well worth while.
These two cities sit easily in different categories. Providence is not a large city by any means, but is extremely picturesque and has a fascinating history. 30 minutes away is the bustling resort of Newport, very much geared towards the summer visitor and offering great restaurants and beaches. The great architecture and fantastic food make the long trip down South to New Orleans well worth the effort. It can be an expensive trip, but if you are able to afford it, this is a trip you will never regret making.
